NCPD Governance

Council Members

The Council provides strategic leadership, oversight and coordination for the advancement and protection of the rights of persons with disabilities throughout Fiji.

Inclusive leadership and representation

The NCPD Council consists of designated Permanent Secretaries, or their respective representatives, together with five representatives appointed by the Minister from organisations advocating for disability rights and gender equality.

This structure brings together government leadership and civil society representation to support coordinated, accountable and inclusive decision-making.

The Permanent Secretary responsible for persons with disabilities serves as the Chairperson of the NCPD Council, or may be represented by an authorised representative.

Five Ministerial Appointees

Five representatives are appointed by the Minister from organisations advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities and gender equality.

These representatives help ensure that lived experience, disability rights, gender equality and the perspectives of organisations of persons with disabilities are reflected in the Council’s decisions.
